| The Freshman Reading Committee
|
The Freshman Reading Committee consists of twelve faculty members from every college at the university. The committee reviewed several books before making a final decision. Barclay Barrios, chair of the committee, said they chose Blink by Malcolm Gladwell because they found it interesting, engaging, intellectual, and broadly relevant. He went on to say that Malcolm Gladwell's discussion of snap judgments prompted the committee to reconsider what we know, how we know it, and how we make decisions.
