Welcome Freshmen
Class of 2016

Freshman Convocation welcomes the incoming class of 2016 to Florida Atlantic University.  From the colorful processional of faculty, staff, and administrators to the eloquent words of advice from the Distinguished Teacher of the Year, Freshman Convocation promises to be a memorable and exciting start for Florida Atlantic University undergraduate students.

The Freshman Convocation is a formal induction ceremony of the freshman class each fall semester into the academic community of Florida Atlantic University. Convocation is a ritual to signal the beginning of a student's college career in the same, significant manner in which the graduation commencement serves as a ritual marking the completion of study.

Highlights of Freshman Convocation include:

  • The ceremony is attended by the University President, Provost and Chief Academic Officer, College Deans, and many distinguished faculty and staff members.
  • All freshmen receive a Cord at the end of the ceremony which can be worn at their Graduation.
  • Freshman Convocation provides early integration activities that help students bond with the FAU community.

The Freshman Convocation is free and open to all First-Time-in-College Students only

No registration is needed to attend the Freshman Convocation
