Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Mara Schiff is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida Atlantic University. She specializes in restorative justice and has completed two edited and one co-authored books on restorative justice (Juvenile Justice and Restorative Justice: Building Theory and Policy from Practice with Dr. Gordon Bazemore; Willan Publishers, 2005) as well as numerous academic journal articles and book chapters. She has received evaluation and training grants from national and local organizations including the National Institute of Justice and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and other national and local organizations. Dr. Schiff is a founding member of the Board of Directors for National Association for Community and Restorative Justice (NACRJ, (, is regularly invited to speak and consult on restorative justice issues for local, national and international organizations, and will host the upcoming 5th National Conference on Restorative and Community Justice in Fort Lauderdale in June, 2015. Dr. Schiff has had over 30 years experience in criminal and juvenile justice research, planning, evaluation, training and teaching, focusing on restorative community and justice for the last two decades and and is currently working on research addressing the intersection of restorative justice and racial justice.
