Tuition and Billing Services

Florida Atlantic University is pleased to announce there will be no net increase of tuition and fees for the 2014-15 Academic Year. The last day to pay the balance due for Fall 2014 is August 25, 2014.

All payments will need to be made online, by mail or by using the drop box at the Boca Raton campus.

It is important to note you have the following options to pay your bill:

  • Online by using your Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Card. Using the online system, the third party vendor will process your payment and apply it to your student account with a non-refundable fee of 2.60%.
  • Online by using your personal checking/savings account without a non-refundable fee.
  • By check or money order mailed to Florida Atlantic University. The postmark of your payment will be used to determine timeliness of the payment.
  • By check or money order dropped into the drop box located at the Cashier’s Office in the Student Services Building on the Boca Raton campus.

*This schedule does not include all fees that students may be charged.
  • Students enrolled in medical programs in the College of Medicine are charged additional fees as prescribed by the College of Medicine.
  • Each student enrolled in the same undergraduate course more than twice, shall be assessed an additional $158.84 per credit hour charge in addition to the fees outlined above for each course.
  • Transportation Access Fee for Fall/Spring $76.90 and Summer $32.04
  • Students enrolled in special programs, such as executive graduate degrees and the College of Medicine may be charged different tuition rates.  Please contact appropriate department for details.
  • Newly admitted graduate students will be assessed a $35.00 non-refundable Graduate Student Orientation Fee the first they register.
  • Course sections coded BT, BTL, BM, ET, EM and STR will be assessed an eLearning fee of $37.00 per credit hour.

The information below is provided to help you understand the charges on your student Account in FAU Self Service.  As noted below, you are charged using your Residency Status and the Course Level (Undergraduate or Graduate). If you are an undergraduate student and you register for Graduate level courses, you will be charged Graduate course fees. If you are a Graduate student and you register for Undergraduate level courses, you will be charged Undergraduate course fees.

Undergraduate (UG) Level Courses - courses are charged by course level, not by the Student level.  Tuition and Fees are charged per course on FAU Self Service and will have these charges and amounts per credit hour.

Your student account will show charges for each Undergraduate Level course with a description of Fla. Res, Tuition & Fees - UG - $161.16 and includes Tuition $105.07, Capital Improvement Fee $6.76, Financial aid Fee $5.16, Activity and Service Fee $12.32, Athletic Fee $17.27, Health Fee $9.42, and Technology Fee $5.16 - (see chart above). 

In addition there will be a seperate charge with a description of Tuition Differential and the charge is $40.13 per credit.


The total charges will be $201.29 per credit ($161.16 + $40.13)

For example , a 3 credit Undergraduate Level course would be charged Fla. Res. Tuition & Res Fees - UG of $483.48, and Tuition Differential of $120.39, for a total of $603.87 for the course.

Graduate (GR) Level Courses - courses are charged by course level, not by Student level, Tuition and Fees are charged per course on FAU Self Service and will have these charges and amounts per credit hour.

Your student account will show charges for each Graduate Level course with a description of Fla. Res. Tuition & Fees - GR $369.82 per credit and includes Tuition $303.71, Capital Improvement Fee $6.76, Financial Aid Fee $15.18, Activity and Service Fee $12.32, Athletic Fee $17.27, Health Fee $9.42 and Technology Fee $5.16 - (see chart above)

For example , a 3 credit Graduate Level course would be charged Fla. Res. Tuition & Res Fees - GR of $1,109.46 for this course.

 

Tuition and Fee Charges for Out of State Students (Students who are not classified as Florida Residents):

Undergraduate (UG) Level Courses - courses are charged by course level, not by Student level.  Tuition and Fees are charged per course on FAU Self Service and will have these charges and amounts per credit hour:

Your student account will show charges for each course with a description of Out of State Tuition & Fees - UG $679.71 (Includes Tuition $105.07, Non Resident Fee $493.86, Capital Improvement Fee $6.76, Financial aid Fee $29.85, Activity and Service Fee $12.32, Athletic Fee $17.27, Health Fee $9.42, and Technology Fee $5.16 - (see chart above for Undergrad - Non Resident)

In addition there will be a seperate charge with a description of Tuition Differential and the charge is $40.13 per credit.

The total charges will be $719.84 per credit ($679.71 + $40.13)

For example , a 3 credit course would be charged Out of State Tuition and Fees - UG $2,039.13 and Tuition Differential of $120.39, for a total of $2,159.52 for the 3 credit course.

Graduate (GR) Level Courses - courses are charged by course level, not by Student level Tuition and Fees are charged per course on FAU Self Service and will have these charges and amounts per credit hour:

Your student account will show charges for each course with a description of Out of State Tuition and Fees - GR.  The total charge is $1,024.81 per credit and includes Tuition $303.71, Non resident Fee $623.80, Capital Improvement Fee $6.76, Financial aid Fee $46.37, Activity and Service Fee $12.32, Athletic Fee $17.27, Health Fee $9.42, and Technology Fee $5.16 - (see chart above)

For example , a 3 credit course would be charged Out of State Tuition & fees - GR of $3,074.43 for the 3 credit course.
