Students Volunteer at American Legion

The FAU Student Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers volunteered to paint and landscape American Legion Post 304, in Dania Beach. Wearing their red ASCE t-shirts, 30 students started working promptly at 8:30 am with a "must-finish" deadline of 11:00 am for the start of the Veterans Day ceremony. Carefully masking the famous American Eagle mural, so that it was protected, students completed painting and landscaping in time to observe the ceremony.

They were all very proud when the Keynote Speaker, 92-year old Post Chaplain and WW-II DDay Bronze Star Veteran Dick Klug, proclaimed, "job well done." Indeed, as these pictures show, it was a "job well done" and gave a group of Veterans and their spouses a true Veteran’s Day surprise!
