FAU's Career Development Center Hosts Career Day
BOCA RATON, FL (January 24, 2006) - Florida Atlantic University's Career Development Center (CDC) is again bringing employers and prospective employees together in its semi-annual "FAU Career Day." More than 100 companies are scheduled to participate in this year's event, titled "Make the Connection." FAU Spring 2006 Career Day will take place Tuesday, February 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the FAU gymnasium on the Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Rd. The event is free and open to the public.
Some of the many employers scheduled to appear include the Target Stores, City Furniture, FP&L, Broward County Sheriff's Office, Kraft Foods and Allstate Insurance Company.
Career Day is an opportunity for FAU's undergraduates, graduates and the community to talk personally with employer representatives from various companies and organizations. The employer representatives are available to share information about specific careers, answer career-related questions and provide information about immediate or future employment opportunities with their company or organization.
A number of other services are available to those that use the CDC. The Center posts job-listings, co-ops and internships, hosts a national on-campus recruiting program and graduate professional school day, an alumni career mentors program and graduate networking events. In addition, the CDC conducts special workshops in which students and alumni may participate in practice interviews, resume critiques, etiquette dining seminars and learn to dress for success, in addition to a number of other career management programs.
