FAU School of the Arts Premier Music Series Presents World Renowned Duo Turgeon
BOCA RATON, FL (January 20, 2006) - Florida Atlantic University's School of the Arts presents the Duo Turgeon in concert on Sunday, February 5 at 3 p.m. The concert will be presented at the University Theatre on FAU's Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. General admission is $15 with group discounts available. FAU students, faculty, staff and alumni may obtain free admission with valid ID.
The concert will include "Andante and Variations" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; "Barcarolle" by Sergei Rachmaninoff; "Three Waltzes" by Max Reger; and "Le Grand Tango" by Astor Piazzola.
The Duo Turgeon is comprised of Anne Louise-Turgeon and Edward Turgeon, who have been playing together since 1988. Critically acclaimed as one of the top piano duos of our time, the Turgeons have given hundreds of performances, including a European debut at the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, and a New York debut at Weill Recital Hall, to name a couple. The Duo was recently named to the Steinway & Sons worldwide artist roster. They appear on seven compact discs and were featured in the PBS documentary "Two Pianos - One Passion."
The Premier Music Series is presented by the School of the Arts' Department of Music in FAU's Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, in partnership with Bank of America and the Palm Beach County Cultural Council. Other upcoming concerts in the series include FAU's Four Conductors on Sunday, April 2 at 3 p.m. and a special presentation of Mozart's "Requiem Mass" on Tuesday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m.
