FAU Presents Lecture by John Classe
"Baldwin Park: New Life for Old Places"
JUPITER, FL (January 17, 2005) - Florida Atlantic University's Center for Urban & Environmental Solutions will present a lecture by urban planner and engineer John Classe at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 26 in the MacArthur Auditorium, 5353 Parkside Drive, Jupiter. Classe will speak on the economic realities of traditional neighborhood development, and what it takes to develop new urban towns. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Classe, vice president of planning and infrastructure of Baldwin Park Development Company, is redeveloping the 1,100-acre former Naval Training Center in Orlando. Prior to joining Baldwin Park, Classe was the Florida region service manager for PBS&J, directing the consulting firm's civil engineering, surveying, land planning and landscape architecture divisions in the state of Florida. In addition to his corporate duties, he was principal engineer for several key projects in Central Florida, including Disney's town of Celebration and Universal's Islands of Adventure theme parks.
