FAU Hosts Financial Awareness Workshop

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (January 6, 2006)- In recognition of "Financial Awareness Month," Florida Atlantic University presents the first annual Financial Awareness Workshop on Saturday, January 28 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Treasure Coast Campus. Local professionals will participate in this event to provide financial planning information for the community. Panel discussions will focus on the following topics:

-Common Sense Investing
-Taxes/Estate Planning
-Insurance
-Real Estate

"We designed this workshop to help people educate themselves on how to manage their own finances and how to avoid some of the pitfalls associated with financial planning," said FAU Campus Associate Dean of Business and Professor of Finance Pamela Peterson Drake, Ph.D., CFA.

The Financial Awareness Workshop will be held in the SL Building, Room 106 on FAU's Treasure Coast Campus, 500 NW California Blvd, St. Lucie West.
