DESCRIPTION: Howard Hanson, PhD., associate vice president for FAU's Division of Research and Graduate Studies, will describe new insights into the prevention and control of wildfires as part of the Frontiers of Science lecture series at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. A certified consulting meteorologist, Hanson was fellow (1986-1997) and executive associate director (1993-1997) at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, a joint institute of the University of Colorado at Boulder and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Environmental Research Laboratories. Hanson is also the author of Four Corners Mysteries, a series of mystery novels.
