FAU Hosts Future Jihad Lecture and Book Signing by Terror Expert, MSNBC Analyst Dr. Walid Phares
BOCA RATON, FL (November 30, 2005) -
Dr. Walid Phares, political science professor at
Florida Atlantic University, will host three lectures
on Monday, December 12 on the topic of his recently
released book, Future Jihad, in the Lifelong Learning
Center on FAU's Jupiter and Boca Raton campus. The
lecture on the Jupiter campus will begin at 9:45
a.m., and the lectures on the Boca Raton campus will
begin at 3:45 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are required to
attend the event. A book signing will precede and
follow each lecture. Copies of the book will be
available for purchase onsite through the FAU
bookstore.
Phares has established himself as an
international expert on jihad and Islamic terrorism.
He consults with both United States and foreign
governments. Phares is a regular contributor on
MSNBC, providing the latest analysis of terrorist
actions and Middle East events. He is a Senior Fellow
with the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies in
Washington, D.C., and a professor of Middle East
studies, religious and ethnic conflict, and Islamic
terrorism at FAU. Phares has recently lectured at
John Hopkins University, the University of California
at Santa Barbara, Pepperdine University and the New
York Arts Club. He will be presenting four lectures
in the Spring of 2006 through FAU's Lifelong Learning
Society.
