FAU Jazz Rats Big Band in First Concert of Season

BOCA RATON, FL (October 12, 2005) - Florida Atlantic University's Jazz Rats Big Band will perform their first concert of the season on Sunday, October 23 at 3 p.m. in the University Theatre on FAU's Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. General admission is $15 with group discounts available. FAU students, faculty, staff and alumni may obtain free admission with ID.

The concert will include the music of the Yellowjackets and various composers including Murray Bloom, Rob Rimmington and Tim Walters.

The Jazz Rats Big Band was formed in 1995 by FAU faculty members Jamie Roth and Tim Walters and has been an ensemble in residence at the school ever since. The group performs at FAU and in South Florida jazz clubs.

This concert is presented by the School of the Arts' Department of Music in FAU's Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, in partnership with Bank of America and the Palm Beach County Cultural Council.
