FAU Fall Semester to Begin August 22

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (August 12, 2005)- A variety of degree programs and course offerings are available during Florida Atlantic University’s Fall semester at the Treasure Coast Campus. Classes begin August 22 and registration will be held August 15-29. New courses being offered include:

HAS 4111- Health Delivery Systems: Healthcare issues are a hot topic for modern debate. Recent headlines have included drug prices, AIDS, open heart surgery, malpractice, Medicare, HMO’s, company health plans, the Atkins Diet, gene therapy, arthroscopic surgery, MRI and yoga. Learn more about these issues and more in this course offered by the Department of Industry Studies.

JOU 3101- News and News Reporting: Learn how to write in various styles, how to interview and how to report in this new course that exposes students to all facets of the journalism business. Those who are either considering a career in journalism or simply want to understand more about news media and how they operate are encouraged to enroll.

THE 4104- History of Western Theatre: Be a part of this interactive course that studies the origin and development of theatre from prehistoric times to modern drama. The chosen plays reflect societal issues of their time and are presented through lecture, student presentations and open discussion.

LIT 4383- Women in Literature: Study some of the most prominent women in literature in this course which may include fiction, poetry, drama, British, American, or world literature.
