FAU Hosts International Chess Event
BOCA RATON, FL (July 8, 2005) - The Florida Atlantic University Chess Club is hosting the Chess4Less Denker Memorial over the next two weekends. The event will take place in the Live Oak Pavilion on the Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. The round times are 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on July 9, 10, 16 and 17.
The Chess4Less event is an International Norm Round. The round robin is the first such event in the state of Florida. There will be ten participants from around the world, including FAU student Mario Marshall.
"It's very exciting for the FAU Chess Club to host this prestigious event,' said Jon Haskel, tournament director and organizer of the Chess4Less Denker Memorial. "This will bring much needed attention and awareness to make the club one of the best university chess clubs in the country."
