FAU Advisory Board Names Hal Roberts as Chair

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (April 18, 2005) - Florida Atlantic University's Treasure Coast Campus Advisory Board recently named J. Hal Roberts, Jr., executive vice president and COO of Harbor Federal Savings Bank, chair of the campus' advisory board. Roberts has served on the board for the past four years and has played an active role in various university-wide committees.

"Florida Atlantic University has become an important part of our local community, and it is an honor to serve in this position," said Roberts. "I am looking forward to the further expansion of higher education opportunities in this area."

The 45-member board has been chaired by Senator Ken Pruitt since its inception in 2001, and is comprised of community leaders from St. Lucie, Indian River, Martin and Okeechobee counties.

"I am very proud to pass this important position to Hal. Not only is he a dear friend, but his strong leadership and devotion to education in the Treasure Coast community will be an asset to FAU," said Senator Pruitt.
