FAU Libraries to Present Black History Month Poetry Jam

BOCA RATON, FL (February 15, 2005) - Florida Atlantic University Libraries, in conjunction with members of the Women's Studies Graduate Students Association and the FAU Chapter of The Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, are joining together in organizing a poetry jam to commemorate Black History Month. The event, which is the first collaboration between the groups, will take place Wednesday, February 23 on the front steps of the Wimberly Library, FAU's Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road.
"The event will be an open forum to promote self-expression as well as an exchange of ideas," said organizer Malti Turnbull.
Students, as well as the general public, are invited to participate in the event. Sign-up has begun. Participants may sign-up in the Wimberly Library lobby, the FAU Breezeway or at the event.

WHEN: Wednesday, February 23, 2005 from noon - 2 p.m.

WHERE: Florida Atlantic University's Wimberly Library
Boca Raton Campus
777 Glades Road.

COST: The poetry jam is free and open to the public
