FAU Chamber Soloists Present
"An Afternoon with Tchaikovsky"
BOCA RATON, FL (January 11, 2005) - Florida Atlantic University's Chamber Soloists present "An Afternoon with Tchaikovsky." The first concert will be on Saturday, January 15 at 2 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Auditorium on FAU's Davie campus, 2912 College Avenue. There will be a repeat performance on Sunday, January 16 at 3 p.m. in the University Theatre on FAU's Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. General admission is $15 with group discounts available. FAU students, faculty, staff and alumni may obtain free admission with ID.
The concerts will feature international opera star Dean Peterson, Chamber Soloists artistic director and pianist Leonid Treer, violinist Rebecca Lautar and pianist Chloe Weidenbaum, with narration by Lorah Bond. The program will include "The Seasons," "Souvenir D'un Lieu Cher," "Album for the Young" and others.
Peterson is one of opera's most sought after artists. He is a regular guest of the leading opera houses of the world, including the Metropolitan Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Canadian Opera, the Dallas Opera and many others.
Treer has been with FAU for over 20 years, performing concerts lauded by audiences for their brilliance, fire and passion. He has performed throughout the former USSR, Europe, United States, Israel and the People's Republic of China as a soloist, chamber musician and lecturer-performer.
