FAU Hosts Distinguished Lecture Series
on the American Presidency
BOCA RATON, FL (January 14, 2005) - Florida Atlantic University's Lifelong Learning Society will present a lecture series on the American Presidency. The eight-week series will begin on Thursday, January 20 at 9:45 a.m. on FAU's Jupiter campus at the Abacoa Crown Theater, 4688 Main Street, Jupiter and at 6:30 p.m. at FAU's Boca Raton campus, Lifelong Learning Auditorium, 777 Glades Rd. The series will occur every Thursday at 9:45 a.m. in Jupiter and at 6:30 p.m. in Boca Raton for eight consecutive weeks.
"This lecture series will be a lively program featuring the 9/11 Commission staff, White House aides and others who have personal insight and expertise on the American presidency," said Dr. Robert P. Watson, associate professor of political science and symposia coordinator.
Distinguished speakers of the lecture series include:

9 /11 Commission Staff - This will be the first in a series of public town hall meetings around the country. The format will be questions and answers from the audience directed to the researchers and staff of the 9/11 Commission.

Tuskegee Airmen - Four of the Tuskegee Airmen will be speaking on their experiences in World War II, fighting both American prejudice and the Nazi military.

Peter Hannaford - Longtime aide to President Ronald Reagan and author of books on Reagan, Coolidge and Washington, he will share his personal and professional recollections of President Reagan.

Susan Eisenhower - Granddaughter of President Dwight Eisenhower and one of the nation's leading experts on Russia, she will discuss challenges in the relationship between the U.S. and Russia.
