BOCA RATON, FL (December 14, 2004) - Abraham Lincoln impersonator Jim Getty will speak at Florida Atlantic University as part of FAU's Distinguished Lecture Series on the American Presidency. During this final lecture of the series, he will perform as the nation's 16th president.
Getty's performance will begin on Thursday, December 16 at 6:30 p.m. at FAU's Boca Raton campus, Lifelong Learning Auditorium, 777 Glades Rd. and Friday, December 17 at 9:45 a.m. on FAU's Jupiter campus at the Abacoa Crown Theater, 4688 Main Street, Jupiter.
A native of central Illinois, Getty now resides in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where he portrays the 16th president in a one-man show during the tourist season. His program has received the Pennsylvania Travel Excellence Award.
