Challenges of Corporate Social Responsibility
BOCA RATON, FL (November 4, 2004) - Florida Atlantic University presents Randall Gossen, vice president of safety, environment and social responsibility for Nexen Inc., to address the challenges of corporate social responsibility at the 4th Annual Lynn Chair International Business Lecture. The lecture will take place on Monday, November 8 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Broward County Main Library Auditorium, Fort Lauderdale.
Gossen holds a doctorate in soil microbiology from the University of Calgary and has thirty years experience in the oil and gas industry. He is heavily involved, both nationally and internationally, in the area of corporate social responsibility and led the development of the International Code of Ethics for Canadian Business, which addresses key values and principles relative to human rights, community participation and environmental protection, business conduct and employee rights, and health and safety. Gossen is past chairman of the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association, vice president for the World Petroleum Congress and an active participant in the United Nations Global Compact.
"I am delighted Randy Gossen accepted my invitation to speak," said Professor Al Litvak, the Christine and Eugene Lynn Chair and Eminent Scholar in International Business in the College of Business at FAU.
