FAU Team Helps Fight Breast Cancer

BOCA RATON, FL (October 29, 2004) - Florida Atlantic University Professor Dennis Palkon has teamed up again with the American Cancer Society for its "Making Strides against Breast Cancer" walk. The event will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 30 at Spanish River Park, 3001 N. State Road A1A. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

Each year, Dr. Palkon, faculty advisor for FAU's American College of Health Care Administrators, captains a widely successful fundraising team effort. The team has helped raise over $12,000 in four previous drives.
"There are so many FAU faculty, staff and students who know of someone diagnosed with breast cancer," said Dr. Palkon. "It is encouraging to me that we can help financially support this fight. It is one fight that we are truly winning."
