FAU Professor Elected
Director of Chapters for the
Florida Center for Electronic
Communication
BOCA RATON, FL (July 15, 2004) - Florida Atlantic University professor Francis X. McAfee has been elected director of chapters of the Florida Center for Electronic Communication (CEC) and will serve as member of the executive committee of Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group on Graphics (ACM SIGGRAPH) beginning July 1, 2004. His term runs for three years.
McAfee is an assistant professor in Florida Atlantic University's Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts & Letters in the Department of Visual Arts and Art History program. Prior to being elected chair, McAfee was associate director of the CEC. For the past five years, he chaired the local ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter, that regularly hosts meetings in the Reubin O'D Askew Tower in Fort Lauderdale. McAfee will continue to serve South Florida's professional and student community in his new role as an executive member.
