FAU to Host Inventive Problem Solving LEGO® Competitions

BOCA RATON, FL (June 15, 2004) - The Florida Atlantic University Department of Electrical Engineering will host three inventive problem solving LEGO® competitions in the next two weeks. FAU students will be asked to design and build robots out of LEGO's® to complete a set of tasks. All three competitions will be at 1:30 p.m. in the first-floor lobby of the Science and Engineering building. The three competitions are listed below:

  • June 16 - The first competition will be to design and build an autonomous robot that will move forward, detect a change in floor color (black/white) and return to the original location.
  • June 23 - The second competition will be to design and build an autonomous robot that will get out of a maze.
  • June 28 - The final competition will be to design and build an autonomous robot that will get to the bottom of a hill while avoiding obstacles.
