Present Animating Characters

BOCA RATON, FL (March 31, 2004) - Florida Atlantic University’s Center for Electronic Communication, Anamie Studios and Fort Lauderdale’s Museum of Art (MOA) present Wayne Gilbert’s Animating Characters. The one-day course on character animation will be held in two sessions on Saturday, April 3 at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art Auditorium, One East Las Olas Boulevard.

The first session, from 9:30 a.m-12:30 p.m., will cover the principles of animation, action and acting. The second session, from 1:30-4:30 p.m., will include story boarding, story reel-the real test and music and sound design.

Gilbert has worked in the animation industry for over 25 years and taught character animation for the past 12 years at Sheridan College in Toronto. Gilbert’s studio credits are Nelvana Ltd., Disney Canada and Industrial Light and Magic, a George Lucas feature film effects company. He has won awards for television advertising, with two commercial Clios and feature film credits ranging from Care Bears to Star Wars, The Mummy to E.T. 2003. Gilbert’s book, Simplified Drawing for Planning Animation, has garnered rave reviews from professionals and students.
