FAU Presents Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing"
BOCA RATON, FL (March 16, 2004)
-
Florida Atlantic University presents
Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing," a comedy about love,
betrayal and the battle of the sexes. The play will run
Friday, April 2 through Sunday April 11, with performances on
Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2
p.m. in the Studio One Theatre on FAU's Boca Raton campus,
777 Glades Road. Individual tickets may be purchased for $15,
with group discounts available. FAU faculty and staff may
purchase tickets for $10 with ID and FAU students may receive
tickets free with ID.
This 16th century classic set in
Sicily follows the various pathways in the journey of love
and relationships. In the characters of Benedick and
Beatrice, Hero and Claudio, we experience the sport of
pursuit, the trials of courtship and the bliss of love's
affirmation. Misunderstandings, scheming and deceptions
test love's resolve, but in the end, it's 'much ado about
nothing.'
The play, directed by Bridget
Connors, is presented by the School of the Arts' Department
of Theatre in FAU's Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and
Letters, with additional support from the Palm Beach County
Cultural Council, the Palm Beach Post and WXEL.
Tickets are available by calling
561-297-3737 or by visiting ucboxoffice@fau.edu. They will
also be available at the theatre two hours prior to
performance. For more information about the play, call
