BOCA RATON, FL (February 2, 2004) - The Adams Center for IT Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital in FAU's College of Business, in conjunction with The Stiles-Nicholson Foundation, will hold a business plan competition during the spring 2004 term open to all FAU students, faculty, staff and alumni, as well as community members. To participate in the project, at least one currently-enrolled FAU student must have a significant ownership percentage of the participating company.
When participants begin the project,
a mentor from the private business sector will be available
to assist the team for the duration of the project. The
Adams Center staff will also help the individual teams with
legal, business, journalistic and other questions and
problems. The winning business plan will receive up to
$10,000 toward the venture. Plans will be reviewed and
judged by a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs and venture
capitalists.
Applications and information can be
obtained by emailing Bob Keltie at entrecenter@fau.edu.
Applications should be returned to the office of Dr. Larry
Klatt, Business East 164, via mail or hand delivery as soon
as possible. The final date for submission of the business
plan to enter the competition is March 22.

area," said Dr. Bruce Mallen, dean of FAU's College of
Business. "We appreciate the support of the
Stiles-Nicholson Foundation in our efforts to improve the
business acumen of our students."
The Stiles-Nicholson Foundation's
primary mission is "to enhance the nation's understanding
