FAU Breaks Ground On Scripps
Temporary Facility
BOCA RATON, FL (February 27, 2004)
-- Florida Atlantic University President
Frank T. Brogan, along with business, research
and governmental leaders, kicked off a new era in
scientific research in Florida today when they
broke ground on the FAU/Scripps Joint Use
Facility on FAU's MacArthur Campus. The, 40,000
square foot building will serve as the temporary
facilities of The Scripps Research Institute's
Florida operations until the permanent site is
completed next year

will be speaking on the topics of George W. Bush,
the war on terror and Iraq. The first of two
lectures will be held on Thursday, February 26 at
3:45 p.m. in the Barry and Florence Friedberg
Auditorium on the Boca Raton Campus, 777 Glades
Road. The second lecture will be at Abacoa Crown
Theater, 4688 Main Street, in Jupiter, on Friday,

Renaissance Learning Center of Palm Beach Gardens
and the Hope Center of Martin County join to host
a lecture titled "Educational Strategies for
Children with Autism: The Princeton Child
Development Institute's Approach to Reading." The

ground on a new home for the Christine E. Lynn
College of Nursing on Tuesday, February 10 at
10:30 a.m. on FAUs Boca Raton campus, 777
Glades Road.
It was with much anticipation and a
great deal of excitement that we broke ground on
a building that will provide many services to
FAUs students and the community at
large, said FAU President Frank T. Brogan.
The training and services offered through

winner of the ACRL Instruction Section's Miriam
Dudley Instruction Librarian Award. This award

contribution to the advancement of instruction in
