Season Brochure for FAU's School of the Arts Available
BOCA RATON, FL (Sept. 9, 2003) - In keeping with FAU's continued commitment to the South Florida community, the School of the Arts of the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters offers an outstanding season of art exhibitions, theatre productions and music concerts for the 2003-2004 season. The season preview guide for FAU's School of the Arts is now available and can be obtained by calling 561-297-2848 or 954-236-1357.
The visual arts season at the School of the Arts kicks off with the Biennial Art Faculty Exhibition, which will feature the works of FAU's award-winning arts faculty, an exhibition of Contemporary Latin American Women Artists, as well as an exhibition of the works of Latin American artists Gustavo Serra and Daniel Batalla.
FAU's theatre department presents its "World Theatre Series: The Classical and the Contemporary." Plays include "Ubu Roi," "The Investigation," "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead," and "Much Ado About Nothing."
The music department will present over 30 performances ranging from a chamber music series to keyboard concerts to jazz ensembles and much more. Concerts are performed by faculty, students and internationally celebrated guest artists.
All visual arts and theatre productions will take place at the Dorothy F. Schmidt Performing Arts Center of the Boca Raton campus, located at 777 Glades Road in Boca Raton. The music events will be divided between the Boca Raton location and the Liberal Arts Auditorium of the Davie Campus at 2912 College Avenue in Davie. There will also be a computer arts show and reception at FAU's Fort Lauderdale campus.
