FAU's MacArthur Campus Hosts "A Photographic Journey through Israel"

JUPITER, FL (September 2, 2003) - The Florida-Israel Institute will present "A Photographic Journey through Israel: A Rainbow of Peoples and Cultures" by Harel Stanton at Florida Atlantic University's MacArthur Campus on Monday, September 8 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. This unique multi-media slide show on the culture, people and life in Israel today will be held in the MacArthur Campus Auditorium, 5353 Parkside Drive, Jupiter.

Harel Stanton is an ethnological photographer and professional lecturer living in Israel. His photographic presentation will incorporate geographical and human "landscapes" of Israel, Israel as an immigrant's melting pot, religious Jerusalem versus secular Tel Aviv and Israel's daily life and nightlife.

"Israel, like the U.S., is a 'tossed salad,'" said Nancy Rosen, executive director of the Florida-Israel Institute. "This program will be a great opportunity to take a virtual tour of Israel and see what an interesting place it is."

The program is made possible by the Florida-Israel Institute, FAU, Broward Community College, The Consulate General of Israel to Florida and Puerto Rico and a grant from the Executive Office of the Governor of the State of Florida.
