Five FAU Students Receive Scholarships to Participate in Washington Internship Program

BOCA RATON, FL (May 29, 2003) - Five FAU students have received scholarships to participate in the Washington Center Internships Program session for the summer semester. The Center places the students in a wide range of offices in Washington, D.C., including the Women Leaders Internship Program, the Diversity in Congress Internship Program, the Environment/Energy Internship Program and others. Students work full time and take a college class in the evening, earning up to 12 college credits.

This year's recipients include Cihan Emeksiz, Monica Jara, Jennifer McIvor, Sharon Graves and Corey Kelly. The students will receive scholarship money through the State of Florida, and for the first time this year, FAU's Student Government Association is contributing to the program.
