FAU Experts For 2003 Hurricane Season
BOCA RATON, FL (May 29, 2003) - As hurricane season approaches, several Florida Atlantic University faculty members are available to discuss issues surrounding hurricane preparation and awareness, including:
Anthony Abbate. Abbate is an associate professor of architecture specializing in hurricane safety and preparations. He can be reached at 954-762-5636 (office) or aabbate@fau.edu.
Leonard Berry. Berry is the director of the Florida Center for Environmental Studies. He specializes in water management, flooding and general environmental issues specific to South Florida and the tropics. Berry can be reached at 561-799-8554 (office) or berry@fau.edu.
D.V. Reddy. Reddy is an ocean engineering professor who specializes in structural and geo-technical engineering. He can provide tips for minimizing the damage associated with hurricanes to marine structures, such as bridges and coastal protection systems.
