Brogan Makes New Assignments At FAU
BOCA RATON, FL (April 23, 2003) - As Florida Atlantic University President Frank Brogan settles into his new role, he has implemented a number of organizational changes within his office including:
" Dr. Anthony Lombardo has been named liaison to the Board of Trustees and executive assistant to the president. Formerly the university ombudsman, his new responsibilities include serving as the primary contact with FAU's trustees and coordinating their university activities. In addition, Dr. Lombardo will undertake special projects, manage inquiries, and as accreditation liaison officer, continue to advise the president on matters pertaining to the accreditation of the university by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Dr. Lombardo, who has a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Syracuse University, has been with FAU for 34 years.
" Bobbi Rice has been named university ombudsman. With FAU for 30 years, Rice previously served as the associate ombudsman. She will now head the Ombudsman's Office assisting members of the FAU community who have encountered problems within the university system. An FAU alumna, Rice earned her degree in English in 1970.
" Jennifer O'Flannery has been named special assistant to the president. A Ph.D. candidate at FAU in the School of Public Administration, O'Flannery was formerly director of the Baldwin House at FAU. Her new responsibilities are to maintain the comprehensive operation of the university's Presidential Residence, including event coordination, communications and budget. In addition, O'Flannery will be assisting Dr. Lombardo with the university's Board of Trustees.
