FAU To Offer Two New Degrees in The College Of Business
BOCA RATON, FL (March 26, 2003) -- The Florida Atlantic University Board of Trustees approved two new degree programs to be offered by the Department of Industry Studies in the College of Business starting this fall semester.
A new Master of Health Administration degree is a 36-semester hour program targeted to traditional graduate students, as well as clinically trained healthcare personnel who are looking to advance their careers. This is the only master's degree in health administration at a public university in FAU's service area.
According to Dr. John Valentine, professor of health administration who developed the program, students enrolled in this new program, have an option to simultaneously complete a Master of Business Administration degree.
FAU's Board of Trustees also approved a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Hospitality and Tourism Management. This degree program is one of two in the state housed in AACSB-accredited business colleges. The program will be led by veteran hospitality educators, Dr. Carl Riegel, chair of the Department of Industry Studies, and Dr. Melissa Dallas, assistant dean for external relations and a business faculty member.
