FAU Hosts “On the Cat Walk” Charity Fashion Show to Benefit Adopt-A-Cat Shelter

JUPITER, FL (March 27, 2006) – Florida Atlantic University’s Jupiter campus is hosting a benefit fashion show for Adopt-A-Cat, a local nonprofit, no-kill cat shelter.  “On the Cat Walk” will be held on Sunday, April 2 at the Lifelong Learning Pavilion on FAU’s John D. MacArthur Campus, 5353 Parkside Drive, Jupiter.   The fashion show begins at 3:30 p.m., but the community is invited to arrive at 3 p.m. to view the animals available for adoption.

The fashions worn on the runway, along with other items donated by local retailers, are available via a silent auction.   Purchases can be made by cash or check.   Proceeds from the fashion show will go directly to Adopt-A-Cat. There is no admission fee, but donations will be accepted.

All the cats available for adoption are up-to-date on their shots, have been spayed/neutered and are ready for a loving home.

Sponsors for the event include Palm Beach Pup, Tennis Threads, Skeffington's Furniture, Elite Art of Africa, Maverik, Cache, La Boutique, Let’s Tan, ANOVA, Quarterdeck, Ray’s Italian Restaurant, RJ Gators, Sabor Havana and Spoto’s Oyster Bar.   The event is coordinated by Wilkes Honors College residential life staff.

Adopt-A-Cat Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to finding loving homes for rescued cats and kittens.   The organization currently provides shelter for more than 200 homeless, abandoned, ill or injured cats and kittens everyday.   In addition, the agency provides rescue, trap, spay/neuter programs and medical treatment for injured strays.
