FAU Wellness Triathlon Begins Registration
BOCA RATON , FL (March 3, 2006) – Registration for Florida Atlantic University’s 15 th annual Wellness Triathlon is underway. The event will take place on Sunday, April 9 at 7 a.m. at Spanish River Park, 3001 Ocean Blvd., Boca Raton. The race, which is authorized by Triathlon Federation USA, includes a 0.25 mile ocean swim, 10 mile flat bike course and a 3.1 mile run.
All revenue generated from the triathlon will be used to support wellness programming for FAU and the local community. There will be an awards party following the race which will include refreshments, music, door prizes and awards.
The individual entry fee is $50 for individual USA Triathlon members and $59 for individual non-members, if received by Friday, March 10. The relay entry fee is $85 for USA Triathlon members and $112 for non-members, if received by March 10.
To register, visit http://www.active.com before midnight on Thursday, April 6. Registration forms also are available in the Today & Beyond Wellness office on FAU ’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. Forms are to be filled out and returned there, or you may register in person on Saturday, April 8 at the FAU Swimming Pool from 1 to 5 p.m. Late registration may be done in person during check-in between 5:30 and 6:45 a.m. on April 9 for a $10 extra charge. There are no refunds.
Established triathlon rules will be in effect. A free pre-race Triathlon Clinic will be available Saturday, April 8 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the FAU Pool.
