September Events Highlight
FAU Safety Month
September is Safety Month at FAU. The University will host a variety of safety-themed events offering activities and information on healthy lifestyles, personal property security, fire prevention, alcohol and drug abuse, date rape, and hurricane preparedness and recovery. Things kick off on the Boca Raton campus the week of September 11, continue on the Broward campuses the week of September 18 and wrap up at the Jupiter and Treasure Coast campuses the week of September 25.
"By being aware of threats to our health and well-being and taking appropriate action, we can make 2006-07 the safest year ever at FAU," said President Brogan in announcing the month's events. "Let’s all work together toward that very important goal."

Be ready. Be smart. Be safe.
Avian Flu
Safety month is also a good time to think about avian flu and how it might affect you and the community. FAU’s Department of Environmental Health & Safety and Student Health Services are working together to put a preparedness plan in place and each University department and division will be asked to participate in this proactive planning process.
