FAU's Small Business Development Center, a unit of the College of Business, is now offering free, confidential business counseling for small business owners and entrepreneurs at the MacArthur campus.
Business owners and those interested in starting a business can meet with SBDC Certified Business Analysts one-on-one at the location to discuss any topic relating to small business, including financing, marketing, international trade, government procurement, business planning and more.
SBDC Certified Business Analysts Ted Kramer, Parbatee Chang and Procurement Specialist Mike Bell of the FAU Procurement Technical Assistance Center Program staffs the office on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. SBDC Business Analyst Bob Keltie staffs the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. To set a counseling appointment, call 561-799-8101. The SBDC office is in the main Student Resources (SR) Building on the second floor, Room 221.
The new Jupiter office joins locations at the Fort Lauderdale and Treasure Coast campuses. SBDC Director Nancy Young said, “We appreciate all the support we have had from the University and the College of Business this year. The new offices have greatly helped us fulfill our mission of building economic prosperity in Southeast Florida with world-class quality services. The MacArthur campus office will help us reach a new area we were not directly serving.”
One of the largest SBDCs in the state, the SBDC at FAU spans the entire Southeast coast of Florida, from Sebastian to Key West, with 10 counseling locations. The SBDC also delivers hundreds of free or low-cost seminars per year on a variety of topics.

The SBDC's Mobile Business Assistance Center visited the Jupiter campus on Sept. 8. The Mobile Business Assistance Center is a 38' RV coach outfitted with laptops, satellite internet access and extensive business libraries.
Dr. Kristen Murtaugh, artist Carol Steinberg and Dr. Yu Xiang at the "Meet the Artist" reception held recently on the Jupiter campus. Steinberg's exhibit, "In Praise of Color," will be on display in the Student Resources (SR) Atrium through Oct. 20. A native of Philadelphia and graduate of Temple University, Steinberg moved to Jupiter 12 years ago and was instrumental in forming the North County Art Association.
