Free Speech at Florida Atlantic University

Freedom of Speech

FAU, as an institute of higher education, prides itself on being a venue for free speech and expression. As one of the most diverse campuses in the United States, we are proactive in seeking to maintain an atmosphere that welcomes all people and is open to vigorous intellectual debate. Please keep in mind that students, student groups and faculty often express their opinions, but those views do not in any way reflect FAU’s endorsement or agreement with those opinions. Student groups and faculty plan events and welcome speakers to offer their thoughts and insights on a wide variety of topics, but neither students nor their guests speak on behalf of the University.

The link below is a handbook on free speech issues that you should be familiar with and refer to if you have questions.
