Florida Atlantic University(FAU) State Authorization Status
State Authorization of Distance Education is a requirement in all U.S. States. Many of these state laws and regulations also apply to online, distance and correspondence educational instruction offered in that state. To be legally authorized to provide post-secondary educational instruction in a state, post-secondary educational institutions must receive such authorization. Florida Atlantic University and its online/distance educations programs must be authorized in certain states prior to offering those courses or programs to students residing in those states.
Florida Atlantic University's goals are to deliver all of its online programs in every state. However, the complexity of requirements in some states, including differing requirements by academic programs, makes this impractical. FAU's online courses and programs are approved in the following states. FAU students residing outside the State of Florida who desire to resolve a grievance are encouraged to follow the University’s Student Grievance Process.
If an issue cannot be resolved internally, a complaint may be filed with the State of Florida University System, FAU’s accrediting agency, FAU's accreditation agency, or the appropriate state agency for handling complaints in a student’s state. FAU's online courses and programs are approved in the following states. FUA is authorized to offer online courses and programs in the states listed below. Florida Atlantic University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges,1866 Southern Lane,Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 to award degrees at the baccalaureate, master's, specialist, and doctoral levels, including the Doctor of Medicine.
