Field Placement Information Session for Social Work Majors

SPRING 2002 FIELD PLACEMENTS

There will be six MANDATORY field information sessions for students who plan on completing their field placement in the spring, 2002. It is required that all students attend one of these sessions prior to applying for field placement. For student convenience, there will be sessions offered at each campus.

Field Instructor's Supervisor's Training

You are invited to participate in the Field Instructor's Supervisor's Training sponsored by the Florida Atlantic University (FAU) School of Social Work. This training is required for all Field Instructors for the School of Social Work at FAU. We encourage you to attend if you have not previously attended the field instructor's training provided by FAU. We also honor training offered by Barry University, Florida International University, and Florida State University.

Please note that the training has been expanded to two full days (or 16 hours). Please review the attached agenda for further information on topics to be covered by the training. The workshop is free to all field supervisors for FAU social work students. This training qualifies for the social work supervisor's training required for Florida licensure. 12 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be provided (provider # BAP 176).

This seminar provides the field instructors with an opportunity to meet the faculty at Florida Atlantic University as well as to learn about your role as a Field Instructor for FAU. This should also prove to be a good opportunity to network with other community social workers serving as field instructors for FAU.

Space is limited to 50 participants so reserve your space early. Your reservation will be confirmed and a parking pass issued once your RSVP has been received.
