How do the interview timelines for preselects work?
The sample below shows timeline dates for a March 1st interview:
Student: Submit resumes until 11:59 p.m. on the resume submission end date.
Employer: After the resume submission period ends, review the resumes by logging in to OWL CareerLink. OWL Career Link will remind you to make your selections via e-mail. In OWL Career Link, under Page Functions click “Manage Preselects” and select those candidates that you choose to interview by clicking "accepted" next to their names and click on “Save Picks” and then proceed to click "Submit" to finalize selections. OWL Career Link automatically sends generic e-mails students notifying them that they have been selected.
Note: The employers are responsible for contacting students selected and should provide information regarding any details about the interview unique to your process (i.e. apply to company careers website or interview recruitment functions).
Student: The following day, selected students begin preselect sign-up. They have 2 days, between the Preselect Signup Start date and the Schedule Close date, to log in to OWL CareerLink and schedule their interview time.
Employers who schedule an On-Campus Interview (OCI) date between September 12 - 19 are required to attend the Fall 2014 Career Fair on September 11 in order to select candidates and create their recruiting schedule for On-Campus Interviews (OCI).
Attend the Career Fairs and network with employers. Many of the companies who attend the Career Fairs will select students from this event to interview during their On-Campus Interview (OCI). Students will be required to submit resumes through OwlCareerLink (student login/alumni login) in order to be considered for OCI. If you are selected, you will receive an email notification from OWL CareerLink and the employer will follow up with additional details specific to their organization.
