NACE Definition of a Third-Party Recruiter
- According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers
(NACE), third party recruiters are defined as agencies, organizations, or
individuals recruiting candidates for temporary, part-time, or full-time employment
opportunities other than for their own needs. This includes entities that recruit or refer
for profit or not non-profit, and it includes agencies that collect student information to be
disclosed to employers for purposes of recruitment and employment.
- It is the FAU Career Development Center policy that third- party recruiters are not
eligible to participate in job posting services, Career Days or On-Campus-Recruitment (OCR).

- Staffing Companies who hire their own employees, recruit for their own workforce and employees
are paid on the staffing company’s payroll are permitted to utilize the recruitment services offered
by the Career Development Center. These services include job postings, Career Day, Co-op and Internship Programs,
and On-Campus-Recruitment (OCR).
