Our student organizations, Phi Alpha and Acolyte, have shown the importance in advocating for themselves in order to advocate for social justice for others – raising funds and becoming creative in their effort to ensure that FAU has its largest turnout ever for Lobby Days on March 31 to April 1, 2008.

Lobby Day Committee members Vicki Rosenthal, Andrea Razook, Pascale Brown, David Pfeffer, Robin Rubin, Rose Lyons, Sharon Paxton, and others have been working hard to make this a successful educational and advocacy event. To donate money in support of sending students to Lobby Day call 954-762-5661, email, or send a check payable to FAU Foundation (with “SW Lobby Day” in the memo field) to Dan Morris, CDSI Director of Development, FAU, 111 E. Las Olas Blvd, HEC1007B, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33301.

You may also donate online at (select “School of Social Work” as the designation and type in “Social Work Lobby Day” in the In Memory Of field).

The first Lobby Day Training on January 31 was attended by over 150 students and faculty – live in Boca, with videoconference satellites in Jupiter, Port St. Lucie, and Davie. Past participants in Lobby Days have said that this experience was one of the educational highlights of their social work programs. Thanks for your support.
