3 tenure-track positions
The Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Florida Atlantic University is expanding its faculty with three new tenure-track positions to begin in August 2008. We are a young, dynamic, growing, and multidisciplinary Department looking for energetic faculty who can help us shape and implement our vision for the Department. We offer a PAB-accredited Master degree and a Bachelors degree in Urban and Regional Planning on the university’s downtown Fort Lauderdale campus, in the heart of one of the best urban/regional laboratories in the world.
The faculty sees its role in planning research, education, and service as visionary and holistic. We want to provide leadership in producing nationally significant research and in serving national and international planning and planning education. We are expanding our national and international engagement to broaden our access to new ideas and practices, and embrace emerging technologies. We are committed to innovative research and teaching that both draws on planning’s visionary roots and looks ahead in new ways. Our focus is on educating future practitioners and researchers to enter national and global practice as leaders in managing change, developing new policy frameworks, and guiding decision-makers toward an urban future that is environmentally, economically, and humanly beneficial.
