Student Mentoring

FAU offers CAPTURE program students access to student mentors who provide support, encouragement and tutoring to first time freshman at FAU and transfer students from PBSC and BC.

The FAU CAPTURE program mentors are paired with students by major at the beginning of the semester until the end of the academic year. Mentors provide tutoring, study strategies, peer support and advice on how to successfully navigate through their degree programs.

CAPTURE program mentors are FAU computer science or computer engineering students who have demonstrated exemplary excellence at FAU. Mentors gain an opportunity to build their leadership skills and receive paid compensation while helping other students succeed.

For information on how to become a mentor, please contact Sylvanna Fahnestock, FAU Assistant Director, Academic Support Services at 561.297.2492 or email
