STEP 1: FORM A TEAM AND SELECT TEAM CAPTAIN
Intramural Sport teams are typically comprised of
classmates, roommates, friends, etc. FAU students and Rec
Members are eligible to participate. Teams must designate
a captain for the tournament. Team captains serve as the
liaison between the Intramural Sports program and members of
the team. This person is responsible for informing their
team of all Intramural Sports policies and procedures and
ensuring the eligibility of their team members. This
person may also play for the team they represent.
STEP 2: REGISTER ONLINE
The team captain should register online to secure your
spot in the league. Registration will be open from
Monday, August 23, 2010 - Thursday, September 9, 2010. Please
be sure to read the directions carefully and fill out the form
completely to ensure that your preferences are met. Times
of available leagues can be found at the bottom of this page.
STEP 3: ATTEND CAPTAIN'S MEETING
The team captain or representative must
attend the mandatory Captain's Meeting held on Thursday,
September 9 at 6:00pm in the Recreation and Fitness Center.
Failure to attend this meeting will result in your
team’s removal from the league!
Step 4: SCHEDULE AND RULES
Team
schedules will be available on this webpage
Monday,
September 13, 2010.
Step 5: PLAY
Intramural
Flag Football begins play on Thursday, September 16,
2010. All games will be played on the Henderson Field -
East. All players must present a valid FAU I.D. card in
order to participate.
League Information
Men’s and Women’s flag football consists of 7
players per team (Co-Rec consists of 8; 4 males and 4
females). Regular season play begins on September 16 and
will last for 6 weeks. Teams who meet the sportsmanship
requirement and do not forfeit any games will be eligible to
advance to a single elimination tournament. Winning teams
receive an Intramural Sports Champion t-shirt.
Men's Competitive: Teams who register for
Intramural Sports with the objective to win games are well
suited for the Men's Competitive league. These teams are
usually comprised of athletes who competed at the varsity level
in high school and remain active in their sport. These
teams may even hold practices.
Men's Recreational: Teams who have not played together
as a team or are new to the sport should sign up for the Men's
Recreational league. These teams register for Intramural
Sports to have fun and feel that winning is less
important. If you are unsure which league your team
belongs in, we recommend you register for the Men's
Recreational league.
Times Available
Leagues are formed on a first come, first served basis so
be sure to register online early & check the website to
verify when your team plays!
