Fitness Assessments



The Department of Campus Recreation offers two great fitness services for its participants and members. Choose from either of these options to help get you started on your journey to a more active and healthy lifestyle. Both of these services are FREE and conducted by our certified Personal Trainers. 

Introduction to Movement Consultation

An Introduction to Movement Consultation is the perfect first step for anyone new Campus Recreation or looking for information on how to become more physically active. This FREE service is designed to help orient participants to the various pieces of equipment in the Fitness Center, as well as, provide information and resources on physical activity options for each person. These consultations are geared towards introducing students and members to importance of physical activity to enhance overall health and wellbeing.

The Introduction to Movement Consultation includes, but is not limited to, the following options for participants to choose from:

  • Introduction to how to use the cardio equipment in the Fitness Center
  • Introduction to how to use the strength equipment in the Fitness Center
  • The importance of movement and how to become more active
  • Physical activity options at FAU
  • How to start a physical activity program

Fitness Assessments

The Fitness Assessment and Consultation involves a variety of physical fitness components including but not limited to:

  • Body Composition
  • Circumference Measurements
  • Blood Pressure
  • Resting Heart Rate
  • Weight
  • Muscular Endurance
  • Muscular Strength
  • Cardiovascular Endurance
  • Functional Movement Screening

Scheduling an Assessment

Both of these services are scheduled in 30 minute time blocks, and are only offered during the following days and times:

  • Monday, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Tuesday, 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.
  • Wednesday, 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
