OWL CARD... What is it and why do I need one?
The OWL CARD is the official photo identification and debit card for the Florida Atlantic University community. It is required of all students and is recommended for all faculty and staff. Your OWL CARD also acts as your library card, dorm building key, ticket to events*,
What do I need to get an OWL CARD?
- a photo ID (either your drivers license, military ID, or passport)
and 1 of the following
- be registered for classes within the current semester
- have a current FAU employment contract
- have a current LLS membership card
Where can I get an OWL CARD?
OWL CARDS are avilable on most campuses. Hours and availability do vary. Click here for location and contact information.
I lost my OWL CARD... what do I do?
Contact each office where you have special features setup on your OWL CARD, i.e. BankAtlantic for ATM access or business services for meal plans.
Then stop by an OWL CARD center location for a replacement card. A fee will apply.

| Identification: | On the front of the card there is a digitized photograph and signature of the bearer. |
| Library Card: | The bar code, and numbers below it, are the user's library number. Please note that if you are entering your library number on line you should not enter the "A" preceding or following the number. For additional information, visit the OWL CARD Use in the Library site. |
| BankAtlantic: | Your OWL CARD can also be activated to function as a BankAtlantic ATM card. In order to do this, you will need to open a BankAtlantic account. BankAtlantic is located in the Student Services Building West, across from the Breezeway Food Court. |
| Debit Card: | You can put up to $100.00 on the off-line account of OWL CARD to use for on-campus purchases. The OWL CARD is an accepted mean of payment at Campus Copy, Computer Lab print stations, washers and dryers in the residence halls and student apartments, select snack / beverage vending machines and select copy machines. This money is encoded directly on the card so if the card is lost or stolen your remaining balance can not be returned. |
| Meal Plan: | You can purchase a meal plan from Dining Services. Your OWL CARD will then serve as your meal card to pay for purchases at FAU's Dining facilities. |
| Owl Bucks: | You may also put money into the on-line "OWL Bucks" account of your OWL CARD. This debit 'Meal' account may then be used to pay for purchases at any of the dining venues on campus including the Breezeway Food Court, Einstein Bros Bagels, Coyote Jack's, Starbucks, Quiznos, Centre Market Place, Outtakes Convenient Store, FAU Bookstore, Student Health and the Campus Pharmacy. |
