Programs & Initiatives

Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD)
Provides support and assistance with the goal of optimizing the potential of people with autism and related disabilities.

Center for Early Childhood Education, Research and Community Partnerships
Supports children, families and the professionals who serve them achieve great outcomes through career development, research and community engagement.


Center for Economic Education
Provides area teachers access to new and innovative ways to teach economics in the K-12 classroom.

Center for Holocaust and Human Rights Education

Presents cutting-edge training and resources to teachers involved in Holocaust and genocide education, offering workshops, advanced seminars and summer institutes for K-12 teachers working in the fields of history, arts, languages, religion, science, technology, politics and social studies.

Communication Disorders Clinic
Provides diagnostic and treatment services for a wide variety of communication disorders.

Engineering Scholars Program (ESP)
As part of the prestigious State of Florida Governor's Summer Program, ESP offers dual-enrollment credit courses in engineering and computer science for high achieving high school students of Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Florida Institute for the Advancement of Teaching (FIAT)
Provides practical, research-based and scalable solutions for Florida’s PK-20 educational system by recruiting, preparing, and retaining quality educators in sufficient numbers for Florida schools.

Lifelong Learning
The Lifelong Learning curriculum consists of noncredit single lectures in the Friday Lecture Series designed for mature adults. Explore a wide range of topics, share interests with others and foster friendships in a unique educational experience without the pressures of studying or tests.

Pine Jog Environmental Education Center
One of the oldest nature centers in the nation serving more than 25,000 students, 750 teachers and 12,500 adults/families annually.

Teaching and Leadership Center (TLC)
A collaborative initiative joining the forces of Florida Atlantic University, Broward Community College and the School Board of Broward County in an effort to meet the challenge of attracting, developing, and retaining qualified, competent educators for the schools in our community.
