Sherry Plymale, of Palm City, is the past chair of the State Board of Community Colleges. She has also served as Chief of Staff of the Department of Education, Vice Chair of the Florida Republican Party, and as a member of the board of directors of the Healthy Kids Corporation. She currently serves on the board of the YMCA of the Treasure Coast, the National Assembly of the YMCA of the USA, the Board of Trustees of St. Leo University, a member of Leadership Florida, and as a member of the Martin County School Readiness Coalition . She has a bachelor’s degree from St. Leo College. As thirty year residents of Martin County, Florida, both Sherry and her husband, Dr. Tom Plymale, are members of the FAU National Alumni Association.
